2-1/3 cups cavatelli pasta
1 pound lean ground beef
3/4 cup onion, chopped
2 cloves garlic, minced
26-ounce jar pasta sauce
1-1/2 cups mozzarella cheese, shredded
1/4 teaspoon pepper
Cook pasta according to package directions. Drain; set aside.
In a large skillet, cook the ground beef, onion and garlic until beef is brown; remove from skillet. Drain.
In a large bowl, stir together pasta sauce, 1 cup of mozzarella cheese and the pepper. Add the pasta and the drained beef mixture. Stir to combine and spoon into a 2-quart casserole.
Bake, covered, at 375 degrees for 30 minutes. Uncover; sprinkle with the remaining cheese. Bake 5 minutes more and serve.
