1-2/3 cups granulated sugar
1/2 cup butter
2 tablespoons water
2 bars (4-ounces) unsweetened chocolate baking squares, broken into pieces
2 large eggs
1-1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract
1-1/3 cups flour
1/4 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 teaspoon salt
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease a 9-by-13-inch pan. Microwave sugar, butter and water in a large microwave-safe bowl on high for 4 to 5 minutes or until mixture bubbles, stirring once. Remove from heat. Add baking chocolate; stir until melted.
Stir in eggs, one at a time until blended. Stir in vanilla. Add flour, baking soda and salt; stir well. Pour into prepared pan. Bake for 15 to 20 minutes or until wooden toothpick inserted in the center comes out slightly sticky. Remove and cool.
