1st: Missouri State Fair, Sedalia; 800-422-FAIR

The Missouri State Fair looked much different this past year due to the pandemic, however, Missourians are already gearing up for the much-anticipated return of the statewide agriculture showcase in August. From carnival rides in the midway to your favorite food on a stick, the fair has something for everyone. Make sure your yearly stop includes a visit to the Missouri’s Electric Cooperatives Building where you can meet and get your picture taken with Rural Missouri’s mascot, Buddy Bear. See you at the fair!

2nd: Old Tyme Apple Festival, Versailles; 573-378-4401

For more than 40 years, tens of thousands of apple aficionados have filled the streets surrounding the Morgan County Courthouse for this annual celebration. The weekend is filled with events including a parade, crafts, theatre productions and countless vendors. But a visit wouldn’t be complete without an apple dumpling, caramel apple or even an apple burger.

EC: Missouri Cherry Blossom Festival, Marshfield; 808-345-4975

While COVID-19 turned the 2020 Cherry Blossom Festival into a virtual event, 2021 will return to an in-person gathering. This is the 16th anniversary of the popular Marshfield festival and celebrates everyone from local authors to television stars, but is probably most known for the amount of presidential descendants who attend as both speakers and repeat attendees because they love the festival so much. An autograph show is also held during the gathering, allowing guests the opportunity to visit with speakers and stars. The event runs from April 22-24 this year.
