1 stick butter, room temperature
1 cup brown sugar, packed
1 egg
1 cup flour
1/4 teaspoon baking powder
1/8 teaspoon baking soda
Pinch of salt
1/2 to 1 cup chopped walnuts
1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

Cream together the butter and brown sugar; beat in egg. Stir in flour, baking powder and salt. Stir in nuts and chocolate chips. Spread batter in a greased and floured 11-by-7-inch pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 20 to 25 minutes.
These will brown quickly, so start checking them after 20 minutes.
