The holidays bring a good reminder to pause, reflect and give thanks
Here at Rural Missouri, our hearts are full of gratitude for you — our readers, neighbors and friends. Your stories fill our pages and inspire us all year long. From small-town celebrations to farmstead kitchens, from acts of kindness to creative crafts, we’ve had the joy of sharing Missouri life at its best.
As we look back, we’re reminded how far this magazine has come. First published in 1948 as the Rural Electric Missourian, it began as a way for Missouri’s electric cooperatives to share news and safety information with their members. Over the years, it grew into something much more — a celebration of the people, places and pride that make our state shine. Today, Rural Missouri reaches more than 590,000 homes and businesses each month, making it the largest paid circulation publication in the state.
We’re proud to serve as a source of local news on a statewide scale. This magazine is a place where small towns have a big voice and where Missourians can see themselves reflected in every issue.
As you gather with family and friends this Christmas, we hope your days are filled with peace, laughter and plenty of good food. Thank you for letting us be part of your world — and here’s to another great year ahead!
Something Special in January!
We have exciting news to share. In January, Rural Missouri is getting a new look. We’ve spent the past year refreshing the magazine while keeping the same stories and spirit you know and love. We can’t wait to show you what’s next.
