3/4 cup dark brown sugar, packed
2 tablespoons cornstarch
2 large eggs
1/8 teaspoon salt
2 cups whole milk
1 teaspoon vanilla extract

In a saucepan, combine sugar, cornstarch, eggs, salt and milk. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly until mixture starts to bubble and thicken. Remove from heat; add vanilla and whisk until mixture is smooth. Chill well before serving.
